SYDNEY, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Two teenagers have been charged with murder over a fatal stabbing in western Sydney in late June.
Luke Manassa, 21, was attacked by two men in the driveway of a home in the western Sydney suburb of Pemulwuy at about 10:45 p.m. on June 26. He managed to enter his vehicle and drive a short distance before succumbing to his stab wounds and could not be revived by ambulance paramedics.
Police in the Australian state of New South Wales said on Friday that detectives from the homicide squad on Thursday executed simultaneous search warrants at three addresses in the nearby suburbs of South Penrith, Mount Druitt and Woodcroft.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested in South Penrith and charged with murder, as was a 16-year-old boy who was arrested in Mount Druitt.
It will be alleged in court that a vehicle seized from Woodcroft was used by the teenagers as a getaway car from the scene of the attack.
Both boys were refused bail and will make an initial appearance at a Sydney children's court on Friday. ■
